Organizational Profile


Youth Advocacy Nepal is a movement-based youth organization dedicated to protect and promote human rights for all through knowledge generation, capacity development and advocacy campaigning. Initiated by energetic and vibrant youth, it is registered in Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) and Social Welfare Council (SWC) in 2013. We are one of the leading advocacy organizations working in the field of research and publication, human rights education, democracy and peace, sustainable development. Our crossing cutting issue includes youth development.

Under the above mentioned themes, we, in partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports, ActionAid Nepal and various likeminded organizations, are executing innovative programs that enrich the lives of Nepali youth and society on the whole. Our current program offerings include  Human Rights Education Program, Youth Dialogue Series, Youth Democracy Camp, Youth Entrepreneurship Camp,  Safe city Campaign, Anti-street harassment Campaign, Public Education Campaign, Female Youth Leadership Camp, Disaster Response Program, Youth Advocacy and Leadership program, as well as a Youth Civil Society Strengthening Program.

YAN is accredited organization by International Youth Federation. In addition to it, it is the coordinating organization of 10th Human Rights National Magna Meet-2018.


YAN envisions a democratic, just and sustainable society where the state fully respect, protect, promote and fulfil the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all including youth.


YAN endeavours to protect and promote the human rights for all including youth through knowledge generation, capacity development, and lobby and advocacy.

Goal: YAN empowers the rights holders to claim and exercise their rights, making the duty bearers accountable towards rights holders.
